So tiny, so sweet. Baby clothes are so fun to look at and dress your little one in. But they are such a pain to hang up! Little hangers are difficult to fit into even tinier clothes. When you are changing your newborn's outfit several times a day and doing several extra loads of laundry each week, the last thing you want to do is hassle with putting away your baby's clothes. Here are some ideas for making organizing baby clothes a little easier.
Shelves. Since baby clothes are so small they can easily get lost in a large drawer. Using shelves rather than drawers can help keep baby clothes more organized. Having clothes out in the open helps you see what you have at a glance.
Drawer dividers. If you must store your baby clothes in a dresser, consider using drawer dividers. Using canvas or plastic drawer dividers can help keep your baby's clothes organized in a dresser drawer.
Baskets. Another way to contain baby clothes is using baskets. You can get some decorative baskets to match the décor in your nursery. Put the baskets on a bookshelf, shelves in the closet, the dresser top or even in dresser drawers to sort and organize baby clothes. You can use one to corral socks, one for rolled up bodysuits, one for pajamas etc.
Shoe holder. Hang a clear plastic shoe holder over the door and use the clear pockets to organize baby clothes. The small pockets are great for holding small clothes. You can use a row of pockets for bodysuits, one row for pants, one row for pajamas, and a few pockets for socks. This is a good way to keep a few days worth of clothes organized and at the ready.
Hanging Sweater Shelf. A canvas, hanging sweater organizer can be found at a bed and bath superstore for less than $15. These hanging shelves can be very useful for creating shelves where there are none. They attach with Velcro to a closet rod. Canvas hanging shelves are also available in a size for shoes, which is less wide than the sweater version. Either of these will allow for you to stack different types of baby clothes in the cubby holes without much folding or fuss.
